Who are we?
This site and campaign have been developed by a Marlborough resident, Hugh Steadman. Hugh is now retired and most certainly not of the generation that is going to be most in jeopardy as a result of the Twenty-first Century’s climate changes and its evident, decreasing respect for international law. Paddle Now is not intended to be a one-man band. Volunteers wishing to join the orchestra and help in developing this site will be most welcome.
After many enquiries, I feel bound to offer further explanations about myself and my motives. I refer the curious to my bio at Khaki Specs. That takes me up to 2015.
In early 2019, I was struck down by a too late diagnosis of leukemia and was bedridden for three months. Happily modern medicines work miracles and by end of the year, I had been declared leukemia-free. As I started to recover and my brain came back into focus, I made the decision to stop just blogging about the follies of national governments, but to actively try and do something about them – hence Paddle Now.
